Last Updated: November 9, 2023

Varsity Plaza, doing business as QueOpinas ("we," "us," "our"), is committed to respecting the privacy of users of QueOpinas.com ("Website") or our online surveys, including eligibility surveys ("Surveys") (the Website and the Surveys together, the "Service"). The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to help you understand what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use that information, and when and with whom we may share it.

This Privacy Policy applies regardless of the device used to access the Services (for example, personal computer, mobile device, consumer electronic device), and to your use of both the public areas of our Service and any restricted sections. Before submitting any information through the Service, please review this Privacy Policy. By using any part of the Service, including becoming a panelist or taking surveys online, you agree to the collection, use, disclosure, and sharing of information as described in this Privacy Policy. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You should check this page for updates. Continued use of the Service constitutes your agreement to the updated Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

We may collect your information during your use of or access to the Service, including when you:

  • register an account;
  • participate in a survey;
  • contact us via email or postal mail;
  • submit an online form;
  • download or use our mobile application;

The information you provide directly may include, but is not limited to: name, email address, username, password, survey response information, mailing address, and phone number (optional). We may also collect and retain Social Security Numbers as necessary solely for tax reporting purposes for any user whose points and rewards exceed $600 per year.

Survey responses and other submissions. If you participate in surveys on the Service or apply to participate in such surveys, we may request certain information from you. Participation in these surveys is entirely voluntary, and you may choose whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information may typically include background/demographic details such as zip code, age, consumer habits, hobbies, interests, employment status, and product ownership ("background/demographic information"), as well as survey responses to questions and topics of interest to us and our clients ("response information"). We also collect any information you provide when submitting an online form or contacting us by email or postal mail.

Information Collected Automatically

Device and Usage Information

When you use our Service, we may automatically collect and analyze certain information about the devices you use to access the Service and your activity on the Service, including your IP address; geolocation information; unique device identifiers; URLs visited; date, time, and duration of visits to pages on the Service; browser and platform information (e.g., browser types, operating system); (some of this information is referred to as "Log File Information"); account activity (e.g., number of entries); and data viewed or clicked (e.g., user interface elements, links).

Cookies and Other Identification Technologies

From time to time, we may collect data about your use of the Service through the "cookies" feature of mainstream browser applications — a small text file placed on your computer when you visit a website that allows us to recognize your device. We may also collect or use other identification technologies such as clear gifs ("trackers"), session ID identifiers, or similar technologies. We may use cookies and other identification technologies to monitor your use of the Service, recognize you during visits or surveys, help us identify useful versus underperforming parts of the Service, collect and analyze statistical information (e.g., date and time of visits to our Website), store your settings, conduct analytics, and manage the Service. You may choose whether to accept cookies by adjusting your browser settings. However, if you choose to disable cookies, your survey responses will not be tracked and you will not receive the associated points or rewards, and your experience with the Service may otherwise be significantly diminished. We may offer you the opportunity to participate in surveys that require additional cookies or identification technologies by a client, in which case such technologies will be used for similar data collection purposes.

How We Use Your Information

We may use your information for the following purposes:

  • to maintain your account;
  • to market and provide the Service to you;
  • to send email invitations or text/SMS alerts to participate in surveys;
  • to determine your eligibility and match you with surveys;
  • to interpret the results of our surveys;
  • to deliver points and rewards to you;
  • to provide background/demographic and response information to our clients in aggregated/anonymized form;
  • to send you information about your relationship or transactions with us;
  • to notify you about new features or offers of the Service;
  • to process and respond to your inquiries;
  • to improve our offerings and create new ones;
  • to enforce the legal terms governing your use of the Service; and
  • to manage and troubleshoot the Service.

We may aggregate and/or de-identify information collected through the Service so that it no longer identifies an individual user. We may use de-identified or aggregated data for any purpose, including providing interest profiles or demographic segments to our clients or sharing survey response data for research and marketing purposes. We may share this data with third parties.

We may send you emails after your registration to invite you to participate in surveys, to alert you about surveys, to deliver points and rewards, or to send newsletters, updates, and other service or administrative notices. You may opt out at any time as described below in "Opting Out."

We may disclose your information to unaffiliated third parties based on your consent. Such consent includes: (a) providing the service; (b) providing other services you have requested; (c) when you have granted permission; or (d) as stated in this Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, rent, or disclose information that specifically identifies you to third parties without your consent.

We share background/demographic and response information in aggregated and/or de-identified form with our clients for reliable market research purposes. In these cases, we do not disclose personally identifying information.

We may grant access to your information to third parties who perform services on our behalf and for other legitimate business purposes. These parties may provide services including, but not limited to, payment processing, data storage, research, analytics, and legal services.

We may also disclose your information to: (a) comply with any law, regulation, or order such as a subpoena, court order, or search warrant; (b) protect and defend our rights or property, including investigations and defense against third-party claims; (c) otherwise ensure compliance with our agreements, Terms of Use, and policies; and/or (d) protect the rights, property, and personal safety of our users, staff, or the public.

We reserve the right, in the event all or any relevant portion of our business or assets is transferred to, acquired by, or merged with a third party, to disclose, transfer, or assign any or all information we have collected as part of that transaction.
